Kalmbach Media is looking for a talented, results-driven digital media expert with a passion for digital storytelling to serve as our leader of digital operations. The person in this senior manager position will play an important role in shaping the strategic vision for our digital growth and will help our content, marketing and sales teams execute those strategies at the highest level. This person will lead the content creation teams to develop digital strategies for maximizing impact and delivery of content at optimal times and with audience and platform needs in mind. The director is also a key driver for innovation in digital and social content and products, and will supervise our digital content team for science while also effectively collaborating with content creators across our hobby brands. The director serves as a member of the senior manager team and reports to the VP of Consumer Marketing.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with content and marketing teams to create a content calendar across all platforms that aligns with the company's wider goals. 
  • Establish site goals and provide measurement of key metrics. 
  • Effectively communicate with key teams (marketing, sales, editorial). 
  • Work closely with subscription and eCommerce marketing to develop content marketing solutions and deliver targeted audiences with a high likelihood to convert. 
  • Direct editorial staffs on search engine optimization and proper keyword usage. 
  • Ensure best practices are being followed for all digital platforms. 
  • Develop creative digital packages for advertising customers. 
  • Work closely with ad sales team to conceptualize, promote and execute. 
  • Serve as the key content and marketing contact for content management system and other platform questions, concerns and training. 
  • Help content creators understand how audiences consume content across digital platforms. 
  • Lead the efforts to develop and market new digital products and solutions. 
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Senior Leader Team.
  • Minimum BS degree and 10+ years related experience in digital content and marketing. 
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and directing digital content teams and developing content solutions for sales teams. 
  • Sophisticated knowledge of digital platforms and social media. 
  • Proficient with current web technologies, systems and industry trends. 
  • Experience with enterprise level content management systems. 
  • Expert knowledge of analytics and other tools to measure reach and impact.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop respectful and mutually beneficial relationships at all levels of the organization.
