The Director of Graphic Design & Marketing Projects works with the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications to create and communicate the story of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School (DSHA). Functioning as a key collaborator in all marketing activities, the position will assume responsibility for: the design and execution of all digital activities (including the school’s website, social media, and eblast communications); the graphic design of all print materials; and for the coordination of all photography and videography. This position will also assume the responsibility of managing and executing special marketing projects that support the DSHA mission. This position ensures that DSHA’s brand, visual identity and voice is reflected consistently in each communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary in-house resource for graphic design, creating beautiful pieces in support of the school’s mission and vision. This includes a wide variety of projects – from designing the quarterly editorial publication and social media graphics, to recruitment communications, media placements and more.
  • Hires and supervises the Graphic Design intern.
  • Coordinates the selection of outside graphic design vendors, including monitoring activities within budget and timelines.
  • Coordinates and leads social media team.
  • Crafts plan that attends to all key audiences: prospective students and parents, current students and families, alumnae and the community at large. Along with other members of team, crafts and posts timely content for DSHA’s social media accounts.
  • Publishes, monitors, and engages audiences on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Executes DSHA’s social media strategy and modifies the strategy based on trends and analytics.
  • Manages special marketing projects from start to finish, handling the strategy, design, editing and execution. Such projects will include, but are not limited to all DSHA Theatre and Fine Arts support, Summer Cool Marketing, current parent communications including enews, and school-supported pieces such as programs and invitations.
  • Works with the Director of Volunteer Engagement & Special Events & Director of Alumnae Relations to lead a communications and marketing plan for all non-fundraising special events, specifically Mother-Daughter, Father-Daughter, Grandparent Liturgy, Volunteer Dinner, Alumnae weekend, student-based recruitment events, etc.
  • This position will assist the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications with the planning and execution of fund-raising events such as the PAA Golf Outing and DSHA Auction.
  • Assists the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications and Director of Admissions in planning and executing marketing efforts to recruitment audience.
  • Creates and manages monthly website audit calendar, and executes updates accordingly.
  • Provides website training and support to other editors and approves their content as needed.
  • Keeps website design and content current to meet the needs of all DSHA constituents (both public and internal audiences).
  • Proposes new ways for DSHA to effectively communicate its mission and strategic priorities through online communications.
  • Edits and proofreads all graphic designed pieces before routing to ensure that each piece has been reviewed for the following: it is in support of the DSHA mission and vision, it communicates the intended positioning and points-of-difference, it has an appropriate call-to-action and it is proofread for accuracy of information and proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Position requires a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, advertising, non-profit administration or a related field and 3-5 years of significant experience in a position with graphic design, communications, social media marketing and public relations duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • As our lead visual and digital marketer, effective oral, written and presentation skills are essential for success in the position. 
  • This position will work with diverse groups and will need to communicate effectively with all. 
  • This position must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to work on multiple projects within specific timeframes with varying deadlines. 
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a group is required. 
  • Advanced proficiency using Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign), MS Office software, the Internet and email is required. 
  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
