Applications are being accepted for a full-time Director of Marketing and Communications at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. This position advances the College’s strategic priorities through design, development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan. This position serves as the College’s primary public information officer to include required emergency response. This position directs and manages the design and production of College and academic program publications. This position supervises nine employees and reports to the President. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, initial consideration will take place April 16, 2019.

Beginning: Immediately

Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a key leader responsible for advancing the College’s mission, vision and strategic priorities through design, development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to inform, educate and promote the programs and services of the College.
  2. Plan, develop, direct and administer the College’s marketing activities through an integrated, collaborative approach of internal and external communication, media relations, media buying, social media, advertising, graphic design, website and intranet functions providing an exceptional user experience for all stakeholders.
  3. In collaboration with the goals of the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs units, provide leadership for the development and implementation of an integrated comprehensive marketing plan that promotes enrollment and publicizes student and faculty successes. Monitor the effectiveness of marketing programs and activities using traditional methods as well as emerging technologies.
  4. Implement effective marketing strategies in collaboration with College programs and services to assure their growth and viability as well as the Foundation Office for friend and fund-raising activities. Assist in the development of individual marketing efforts including faculty training and related resource materials.
  5. Oversee the use of the College’s name and brand; develop policies and standards to build diversity and inclusion and to enhance the image of the College.
  6. Direct and manage the design and production of College and program publications such as the annual report, community newsletters, legislative updates, internal notices, recruitment materials and program brochures.
  7. Assist with all phases of planning and preparation for various events and serve on appropriate College, community and state teams and committees. Oversee successful tools and techniques to boost enrollment and increase College visibility through various community engagement events and activities.
  8. Provide supervision, guidance and direction to assigned staff.
  9. Manage the effective and efficient use of College resources; manage and develop the departmental budgets. Provide input and leadership for departmental initiatives in alignment with the College’s strategic plan.
  10. Serve as the College’s primary public information officer to include required emergency response; maintain all needed crisis communication plans in accordance with the Crisis Response Procedure.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Four years of marketing leadership experience to include documented creativity in developing and executing innovative strategies for growth. Marketing and public relations leadership experience in a post-secondary institution preferred.
  3. Three years of coordination or supervisory experience.
  4. Experience as a public spokesperson for an educational institution or similar organization, to include crisis communication.
  5. Experience in brand development and management and a comfort level with new and emerging technologies to include social media technologies.
  6. Strong organizational, planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of District staff and external customers.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based, innovative and continuous quality improvement-focused environment.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
  10. Ability to use computer hardware and software to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, email/calendaring and internet.

Hiring Range 2018-19 Management: C2 - $76,830 - $105,644
