Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity for a talented communications professional to join our team. We are seeking a part-time professional that will lead our efforts to improve the quality and quantity of employee/internal communications.

Headquartered in Ramsey, Connexus Energy provides electric service to members in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Key Responsibilities & Results:

Effective employee communications is an essential part of building a culture where employees understand and support our business goals, operations, and direction. You will create employee communications materials to support our business operations and activities.

  1. Provide OneSource (our intranet site) leadership to ensure our primary communications platform is current, relevant, professionally presented, and populated with information on the many important activities that are happening at CE. Solicit, manage, develop, and post content, while working closely with content owners. 
  2. Expand the use of video-based communication. 
  3. Provide leader/functional communications support for key change initiatives and activities. This will include gathering information from functional or project leaders, writing content, publishing/posting content, assisting with PowerPoint presentations, and designing appropriate graphics (may be done in partnership with other internal or external resources). 
  4. Assist with employee meeting support (gathering of content, PowerPoint refinements, post meeting messaging, etc.) 
  5. Provide strategic leadership and guidance for our internal communications, to include collaborating to determine our communication priorities, methods, and effectiveness.

Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • BA or 2-year degree in journalism, communications, or related field (Preferred) 
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in internal communications (Preferred) 
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with a variety of communication tools, technologies (e.g., video based messaging), and approaches. 
  • Must be an effective communicator and strong collaborator. This role involves fostering relationships across the organization to support the communication of different initiatives (project or initiative based.)
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills. 
  • Experience with the development and deployment of video-based communication. 
  • Experience sourcing, developing, and managing content, and publishing. 
  • Detail-oriented, especially regarding validating accuracy of content/information. 
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly in written, verbal and video format. 
  • Ability to work with confidential materials and engender trust among key contributors. 
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Must be results and outcome driven.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and skills.
