Enrollment Marketing Specialist

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Enrollment Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing and Public Affairs department.

Summary:

Provides leadership in developing communications, campaigns, and marketing materials to support MSOE enrollment goals and enhance the MSOE brand. Serves as the lead in managing all aspects of recruitment focused marketing, working in close collaboration with key university stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Marketing and Community Engagement and VP-Enrollment Management and Student Life, serves the lead role in creating, planning and executing Enrollment communications to support the university's recruitment targets and engage prospective students. Works in partnership with Admissions team to manage follow up activities, communications and results.
  • Proactively manage an annual calendar of Admissions communications including marketing collateral, Enrollment web content, social media and advertising. Serve as an expert, detail-oriented project manager who collaborates effectively with key stakeholders across campus to develop high quality, engaging and error-free communications.
  • This role serves as backup to MSOE's Sports Information Director, which will require a flexible schedule, working evenings and weekends as needed to support admissions and athletics activities.
  • Work closely with Marketing Communications to deliver a strong, consistent and cohesive brand identity and voice across all communications. Support the Marketing Communications strategy with the development of high quality content to drive enrollment including print, web, digital signage, social media and other emerging platforms.
  • Develop and deploy marketing targeted marketing campaigns and communications sequences to positively position and promote the university and its mission to prospective students including undergrad, transfer, adult evening and online and graduate program populations.
  • Manage annual calendar of targeted enrollment-related advertising and directory listings in key, higher education, regional and national publications to increase awareness of MSOE among prospective student populations. Model MSOE's commitment to continuous improvement by conduct ongoing assessments of event messaging and presentations to continually adapt and improve the event attendance and experience for attendees.
  • Monitor higher education enrollment and marketing trends, tools and opportunities, and apply them to MSOE, when appropriate, to further enhance the University's marketing communications presence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related area of study.
  • A minimum of three years of professional communications experience is required. Higher education and/or nonprofit experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to articulate technical information to a non-technical population. Requires the ability to communicate and respond to both internal and external customers professionally and in a timely manner. Must have the ability to read, interpret, write, create and complete documents such as reports, newsletters, general correspondence, and training materials or guidelines.
  • Requires attention to detail, strong organizational competence and the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and professionally respond to variations in schedules and plans. Must be self-directed with strong problem-solving skills including the ability to develop innovative approaches and ideas and meet challenges with resourcefulness.
