Department Description:

The Software & Support organization has responsiblity for global delivery of Motorola Solutions’ product and applications support, centralized service delivery, and managed service operations. The Communications Specialist will help tell the Centralized Managed & Support Operations story of transformation and strategic focus to employees and the external partners resulting from Continual Service Improvement activities. This position is located at Motorola Solutions' Schaumburg location.

The Communications Specialist will:

  • Deliver well-crafted strategic communications resulting from Continual Service Improvement activities, such as organizational changes, employee news, presentations, talking points and video scripts, as well as external content including communications packages, blog posts and social media content 
  • Establishes and maintains a regular cadence of leadership messaging. 
  • Crafts, designs and publishes concise and clear messages with visual appeal (includes writing, editing, and basic graphic design). 
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to leaders, teams and functions across the company, with a focus on building relationships and gathering information to support internal and external communications activities 
  • Support the development and execution of internal and external communications, including project management, content development and stakeholder management 
  • Identify opportunities for employee engagement through storytelling; develop materials to support ONE-CMSO 
  • Maintains CMSO internal websites 
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills 
  • Creativity, flexibility and initiative 
  • Strong project management, prioritization and organization skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and accept delegated responsibility 
  • Serious commitment to excellence, quality and attention to detail 
  • Strong and confident presence when working with colleagues at all levels 
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment, while also working independently 
  • Proficient in the following tools: Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, video and social media experience a plus

Highly Preferred Skills:

  •  ITIL Experience with CSI certification (Continual Service Improvement)
  • Change Management Experience

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with emphasis in Journalism, Communications or English preferred 
  • 2+ years of communications experience
