Position Summary:

Are you a thought leader in applying digital tools to enhance employee communications?

As the Global Intranet Manager for Gallagher, you’ll help us break new ground in digital technology that helps our employees engage, collaborate and communicate, all with an eye toward business results. In your role, you’ll oversee the strategy, program management, content operations, and long-term evolution of the company’s global intranet, including internal digital signage solutions and new digital channels that may be adopted in the future. Working within the Corporate Communications team, you’ll help set a strategic roadmap that leverages internal digital communication channels to create meaningful, ongoing conversations with employees to help Gallagher achieve our business priorities, while supporting our shared values, known as The Gallagher Way.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the company expert for intranet communications to employees, providing guidance with content strategy, governance, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to our SharePoint environment. 
  • Assess and recommend comprehensive improvement plan for our SharePoint intranet. This will include identification of appropriate vendor partners; a governance strategy; and the development of a project plan with key performance indicators and success metrics. 
  • Supports the corporate narrative with engaging, timely content creation and publishing, including production of creative assets. 
  • Daily management of content strategy and calendar. 
  • Tactical content creation including research, interviewing and copywriting for intranet content.
  • Responsible for managing the intranet as a key internal communications channel and ensuring delivery of simple, intuitive, and engaging content to all end users. 
  • Understand user experience and concepts of usability, always putting the user/customer at the center of their thinking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field, with 5-7 years of experience in social media, e-commerce or intranet work; commercial insurance experience is a plus 
  • Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office Suite 
  • 3+ years’ experience in Content Management using layout templates and publishing features of SharePoint 2013 
  • 3+ years’ experience of SharePoint Designer experience 
  • 3+ years’ experience with hands-on experience with creating sites and applications in SharePoint 2013 or previous versions, including working with site collections, site definitions, web parts, pages, workflows, content types, metadata, templates, and themes
