Our intern program: Our intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird’s summer includes an Intern Welcome Event in our corporate office in Milwaukee, multiple Lunch & Learns, a Brewer game at Miller Park, Baird Night at the Zoo, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day and be compensated to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for $8,000 in scholarships. Our informal mentor program gives interns an opportunity to network throughout Baird and learn about all the areas of the firm.

Internship Location, Availability and Hours: Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, interns must be flexible to work a minimum of 15-20 daytime hours/week during the Spring and Fall semesters and 37.5-40 daytime hours/week during breaks and summer.

This member of the Creative Services team utilizes creativity and design skills while working collaboratively on a variety of projects. Project types include print and web-based media. As a Graphic Designer Intern, you will:

  • Involvement in various phases of a project including: print and digital production, concept brainstorming, photo shoots, and design and team meetings.
  • Contribute to print-based design projects: primarily artwork changes and revisions, layout and design.
  • Interpret brand guidelines and embodies a consistent visual brand representation for Baird within design. Prepare appropriate files for vendors.
  • Assist on web-based project needs as necessary. Photograph various Baird events, parties, meetings and scenarios
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 
  • Pursuing a degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Visual Communications. Sophomore or Junior year standing preferred.
  • Advanced software proficiency required in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in a Mac environment.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with a DSLR camera a plus.
  • Solid portfolio of work demonstrating skills above.
  • Position requires attention to detail and sound design and typographical skills.
  • Positive attitude, organizational skills, reliability and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic.

This is a paid internship.
