Junior Web Developer-Internship

Ocreative is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and eager-to-learn professional to join our website development team as a Junior Web Developer Intern.

Can you develop responsive sites with a dynamic CMS? Do you create great user experiences from front-end to back-end? Can you work independently when needed yet can be an enthusiastic collaborator? Then it sounds like you'll be the right fit for our team.

Our work is done in a collaborative environment that requires open and honest communication, strong organizational skills, and an inner drive to deliver client satisfaction. Daily, you will work closely with our Technical Director, developers, creatives and marketers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with the web development team to create high-quality websites and user experiences
• Follow best practices in programming and testing cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device compatibility
• Developing site features and functionality for our client’s websites - Performing site maintenance and fixing bugs with rapid turnaround
• Follow internal development processes
• Stay up-to-date with web development trends and recommend improvements to tools and processes
• Understand the importance of design and staying on-brand to create websites with high quality design and interactivity

Qualifications:

• Experience working in Wordpress and/or as a website developer
• Proficiency in working with Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and CSS
• Knowledge of design fundamentals including color, layout and typography 
• A clear, friendly and open-minded communicator- emails, phone calls, in-person
• Passionate about what makes for a good user experience and knowledgeable of the technical specifics it takes to build one
• Maintains confidentiality, remains open to other’s ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things
• Pays strong attention to detail and is highly organized
• Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks if needed
• Able to work independently but also come together and collaborate with the group
• Maintains a friendly demeanor
• No dog allergies and does not mind a dog in the office (We have an office pup named Wendy!)
