Who We Are:

Founded in 1931, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is the professional association representing nearly 53,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student registered nurse anesthetists nationwide. The AANA promulgates education and practice standards and guidelines, and affords consultation to both private and governmental entities regarding nurse anesthetists and their practice. The AANA Foundation supports the profession by awarding education and research grants to students, faculty and practicing CRNAs. Nearly 90 percent of the nation's nurse anesthetists are members of AANA.

Marketing is the face of our organization, and we want someone with fresh, innovative ideas, with the ability to execute.

The Marketing Manager collaborates with subject matter experts across the association to develop and execute marketing communications plans that increase awareness of the value proposition of AANA membership. Goals include increasing awareness of AANA products, services, and meetings as well as increasing membership engagement, recruitment and retention. The Marketing Manager is responsible for development and execution of marketing plans for AANA membership, products, services and meetings as well as communication tactics that enhance the member/customer experience.


  • Build and maintain internal client relationships with AANA departments and affiliates to develop, produce, and manage the promotional, marketing, and collateral materials to support each product and/or service. 
  • Write copy and work with designers to develop marketing materials customized to market segments. Effectively and consistently communicate AANA brand tone, message and image to its target audience through advertising, email, direct mail, social media, video, and web promotions. 
  • Work within an approved annual budget to achieve marketing goals. Provide recommendations for improving results or reducing costs. Develop timelines, organize, direct and evaluate all marketing activities. 
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, develop a comprehensive marketing and communications plan with an emphasis on consistent branding for all AANA programs and services. 
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators and metrics for all marketing initiatives. 
  • Provide input and represent the voice of the member in discussions of new services and product development by ensuring a positive brand experience.


  • 5-7 years related work experience in marketing and communications.
  • Experience in creating marketing materials – both print and digital.
  • Experience in convention and event marketing a plus.
  • Strong copy writing skills.
  • Experience in marketing communications to drive attendance to meetings and educational events preferred.
  • Strong creativity skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

Qualifications & Other Skills:

  • Must have ability to self-start, self- direct and prioritize workload. 
  • Knowledge of marketing practices, industry trends, and ROI analytics. 
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Proven ability to write creative and compelling marketing copy. 
  • Familiarity with market research techniques and surveys.
