Come and be a part of our transformation! The Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) is the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s new home and a hub for everything architecture in Chicago. The CAC will be a gateway for our docent-led tours, exciting programs and imaginative, new interactive exhibitsincluding the expanded, popular Chicago Model. This person is the “right hand” to the Marketing VP, both managing and assisting with major marketing strategies and efforts including digital marketing, tourism marketing support, advertising planning, media buying and other general marketing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing Management:

  • Develop organizational digital strategy; lead team on the implementation of the digital plan, including but not limited to emails, digital media, social media. 
  • Oversee relationship with our digital agency. 
  • In conjunction with Marketing VP and team, develop paid social media strategy across all platforms. 
  • Execute and align social media strategy with all of CAC’s digital communications platforms. 
  • Lead the collaboration with other departments on campaigns and social media projects, including incoming social media support requests.

Tourism Marketing/Tour Sales Support:

  • Assist Marketing VP with all tourism-related marketing efforts. 
  • Create relationships within the tourism industry, focusing on key partners. 
  • Attend select meetings and events focused on the tourism sector. 
  • Direct Marketing Coordinator on the development of tourism-related partnerships.

Public Programs/Education Marketing:

  • Develop strategies and tactics to support goals and objectives for the sales of tickets to public programs and education programs and events. 
  • Create and execute the Open House Chicago marketing plan, as well as the annual OHC report.

Advertising and Media Planning/Buying:

  • Assist marketing VP with the development of the 2019 institutional ad plan, including the needs from each CAC department. 
  • Work with Marketing Communications Coordinator to finalize creative due dates for advertising tactical plan. 
  • Communicate needs with design team (including specs, CAC offering/message to advertise, due dates, run dates, etc.) 
  • Coordinate with partners to ensure consistency of advertising plans. 
  • Assist Marketing VP with purchasing and planning of all paid media. 
  • Working with Marketing Coordinator, plan and execute promotions with radio stations.

Marketing Budget Management:

  • Working with the VP Marketing and the Marketing Coordinator, plan and execute the 2019 advertising budget. 
  • Assist with overall Marketing budget forecasting. 
  • Ensure delivery of necessary Marketing information (documentation, invoices) to Finance throughout the year.

General Marketing:

  • Serve as liaison to the Docent Marketing Committee. 
  • Provide writing and copy editing as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required 
  • Minimum of four years of professional marketing experience 
  • Experience with Tessitura preferred 
  • Experience using email platforms such as WordFly and Plus

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong competency in social research, including knowledge of survey systems such as Qualtrics and Survey Monkey. 
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize and manage time 
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic team environment 
  • Effective at building relationships with all levels of the organization 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong proactive thinking, professional maturity, and business savvy

  • Must be an enthusiastic team leader throughout the Marketing department and CAC
