Internship Summary:

Greater Elgin Family Care Center is looking for a Marketing and Social Media Intern to join our team. The ideal applicant will possess some knowledge of online advertising and marketing, with specific knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. The successful candidate will work with our Marketing and Outreach Team to develop engaging content for our social media platforms and website. Those looking to gain experience in online advertising and community engagement for health care are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create monthly content calendars for GEFCC’s social media accounts.
  • Collaborate in identifying innovative ways to engage patients and supporters online.
  • Assist in engaging patient population in signing up for the Patient Portal.
  • Assist with monthly marketing strategies and collaborate in identifying new marketing opportunities.
  • Assist with the creation of video content for marketing and fundraising purposes.
  • Assist the Community Outreach Liaison in implementing fundraising campaigns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Currently studying communications or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Indepth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
  • Experience with digital audio/video production for social media platforms.
