ICOY is hiring a Marketing Communications Manager to coordinate and produce ICOY’s external and internal communications, promote a positive public image of ICOY, and control the dissemination of information on ICOY’s behalf. The Marketing Communications Manager will report to the Director of Communication and Member Relations, and work with her and the Member Relations Manager on the day-to-day activities of the organization’s communications. Responsible for ensuring the authenticity and effectiveness of the organization’s brand and tone of voice, the marketing communications manager is a champion internally for consistency, quality, and data integrity. The Marketing Communications Manager will participate in the implementation and evaluation of the organization’s communications, outreach and engagement imperatives under its new strategic plan, including our upcoming rebranding and website rebuild initiatives. This position is also fully integrated with ICOY’s programs, policy and operations teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communications:

  • Communicate news and information to members through email, social media, and websites. 
  • Ensure brand consistency across teams and tools, including the visual representation of ICOY’s brand, tone of voice, and language used to articulate our mission and work. 
  • Coordinate the creation of and/or create print and digital marketing materials to support ICOY membership, programs, and policy advocacy, including brochures, ads, and website content. 
  • Serve as ICOY’s primary administrator and internal expert on ICOY’s communication tools, including our membership database on Salesforce CRM, event, website content management, and email marketing software. 
  • Conduct on-going testing of communications to optimize performance. 
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and tools and make recommendations to the Director of Marketing and Communications as needed.

Internal Relations:

  • Engage in continued collaboration with program and policy teams to improve internal and external communications. 
  • Monitor and report on performance of communications (including email deliverability) through analytics and evaluation, and work with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Member Relations Manager to plan and execute corresponding strategies and tactics. 
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to staff on ways to use communications tools and analytics reports to inform and enhance their work. 
  • Increase awareness among staff of the importance of data integrity and quality assurance and ensure staff compliance with data management and QA procedures and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, or political science 
  • At least 2 years of post-bachelor’s degree work experience 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills 
  • Solid understanding of basic design and user experience principles 
  • Digital marketing experience, including basic HTML and web graphic production 
  • Project management expertise 
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to master new technologies, tools and skills quickly 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Mailchimp (or comparable software) preferred
