3M is seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist for the Safety & Graphics Business Group located in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

Work with our global business development managers to plan technically sound end-to-end communication programs that address the needs of customers (outside the U.S.) within the Transportation market, with a focus on Fleet and Rail.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Immerse in and help define the Persona and Customer Journey for Rail and Fleet audiences and understand the solution set that 3M can deliver to key verticals 
  • In alignment with the brand definition and campaign, propose, plan and produce detailed activation plans and all associated assets for countries to execute/replicate 
  • Manage resources allocated to project by supervisor 
  • Collaborate with a broad team, including the China-based Business Development Manager, to identify needs and leverage synergies with existing content and/or in the development of new content 
  • Use influencing skills, writing, and presentation/speaking skills to lead, develop and execute multiple communication projects, manage project budgets, interpret and apply policies, or analyze data to make strategic and tactical recommendations. 
  • Also required are administrative, leadership, and short-term planning skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of marketing communications experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with customer journey maps and personas 
  • Experience with Transportation markets 
  • Experience managing or working with global colleagues and external vendors/agencies 
  • Successful experience working in a team environment with the demand of short deadlines, high-pressure and high-profile situations 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Basic understanding of paid media and digital marketing 
  • High level of project management skills with the ability to stay organized and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
