POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Marketing Communications Specialist role supports our corporate marketing efforts as well as specific production teams in their multi-faceted efforts to nurture and develop engaged leads in targeted industry segments. He or she works directly with other members of the marketing and communications team to ensure all projects adhere to departmental standards and support brand integrity, message consistency and communication efficiency.

NICHE PROSPECTING & ENGAGEMENT:

  • Strategizes, produces and executes niche-based marketing initiatives that drive engagement, increase exposure and take prospective clients through the sales cycle 
  • Writes blog articles 
  • Curates content for printed and electronic collateral including flyers, white papers and case studies 
  • Executes educational and promotional videos 
  • Drafts and reviews Request for Proposal documents (RFPs) and presentations 
  • Organizes the communications for trade shows and industry-specific events and attends events as needed 
  • Produces targeted email campaigns

BRANDING:

  • Works with the marketing communications team to develop content that upholds the Assurance brand across a variety of channels, including the website and social media platforms 
  • Ensures brand integrity in collateral design 
  • Uses the Assurance brand standards combined with effective digital marketing techniques for email campaigns

MARKETING TECHNOLOGY & DATA MANAGEMENT:

  • Works alongside other members of the marketing communications team to execute campaigns, generate reports and communicate marketing intelligence and trends 
  • Works within CMS website system 
  • Uses marketing automation tools to execute campaigns and report results 
  • Develops Web-friendly content that uses appropriate keywords, metadata and backlinks 
  • Understands sales/CRM platforms 
  • Works within social media applications to amplify the Assurance brand and messaging

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Manages projects from start to finish 
  • Works with graphic designers and various internal teams 
  • Sees the project through the approval process 
  • Adheres to project deadlines 
  • Creates a strategy for project promotion

REQUIRED:

  • 2+ years of marketing, communications and/or public relations experience 
  • Local travel within the Chicagoland area

PREFERRED:

  • BS/BA in marketing, public relations, communications, business or a related field 
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing and/or marketing automation platforms, such as Eloqua 
  • Knowledge of AP style guidelines 
  • Working knowledge of social medial platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter 
  • Website and blog administration using CMS systems
