Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. (R/M) is looking for a creative thinker and research-driven writer with a skill for capturing attention and turning complex topics into compelling content. You’ll be the voice of R/M and your work will inspire and educate our clients on how to improve the communities that we live, work, and play in. With topics ranging from reducing pollution in storm water to interviewing company executives about emerging engineering trends, our clients will be anxiously waiting for your next piece of content!

Your work will showcase R/M as the ‘go-to’ resource for clients, prospects, and news sources. You will directly impact our success by creating valuable content to attract new clients through demonstrating our expertise and thought leadership. Your persuasive writing skills will serve as our secret weapon for crafting winning proposals and award nominations. If you enjoy writing with personality and reaping the rewards of a successful content strategy, then this job is for you!

This position will allow the ideal candidate the opportunity to:

  • Author, curate, and edit articles, case studies, whitepapers, infographics, scripts, and ebooks that align with our content strategy. 
  • Interview and ghost write for firm experts and clients to uncover stories on popular and emerging topics in our industry. 
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to author content for marketing collateral including: brochures, flyers, emails, advertisements, and event invitations. 
  • Assist marketing team in developing engaging social media content and managing the R/M social media accounts. 
  • Use storytelling skills to craft intriguing project case study articles and award submissions. 
  • Assist the marketing team in coordinating, writing, editing, producing, and packaging of responses to “Requests for Proposals” in compliance with detailed client requirements on stringent deadlines to ensure R/M’s qualification in solicitation process. 
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in developing and maintaining the content marketing plan and schedule. 
  • Author, edit, and manage all content for the company and product article pages (blogs). 
  • Author press releases and get R/M news published by media outlets. 
  • Write copy for new campaigns and products. 
  • Assist the marketing team with proofing and quality control of internal and external communications.

The ideal candidate shall possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English or related field. 
  • Minimum of three years of experience writing communications and content in a business or marketing environment. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills including: ability to break down complex ideas into simple concepts while telling a concise yet compelling story. 
  • Can successfully manage various simultaneous projects, due dates, and communications with all staff members to achieve project deadlines. 
  • Experience with Microsoft software, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), and social media platforms (HootSuite, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube). 
  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate in person with all levels of business management. 
  • Can understand our target market including what information is important to them and what drives them to make decisions. 
  • High performing self-starter, with proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment both autonomously and collaboratively.
