The Marketing Coordinator will lead the execution of marketing and communication tactics for the Alumni Relations team at the Wisconsin School of Business. The marketing coordinator is responsible for seeing projects through from start to finish and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on strategy and on budget. The Marketing Coordinator will develop marketing plans, draft tactical briefs, provide and facilitate feedback to team members and track projects to completion. Projects include, but are not limited to, WSB's Homecoming Bash, regional alumni events, and student philanthropy campaigns. This position will provide marketing strategy and overall project management to complement an existing team accountable for writing, design and outreach planning.

The Wisconsin School of Business employs over 80 faculty and over 250 staff members in support of its programs, which include an undergraduate program, a range of graduates degrees, and executive education offerings. The mission of the Alumni Relations team is to understand the needs and goals of our more than 40,000 alumni and nearly 5,000 donors to create effective engagement, marketing, communications and fundraising strategies to meet our goals. We utilize a variety of channels to deliver our messaging including, but not limited to, email, direct mail, web and social media.

Project Planning (40%)

  • Work with project partners to identify project goals
  • Develop tactical marketing and communications plans 
  • Develop and deliver appropriate business rationale and analysis to support 
  • Draft project briefs outlining objective, audience and communication priorities and facilitate cross-functional team project kickoffs
  • Partner with Engagement & Outreach Specialist to develop successful student philanthropy campaigns

Project Management (40%)

  • Build and manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery
  • Provide feedback to cross-functional team members and facilitate feedback from other project stakeholders
  • Develop and implement consistent project processes

Data Management (15%)

  • Identify target audiences, develop list criteria and facilitate list requests
  • Organize and maintain electronic filing system
  • Provide reporting on project objectives
  • Update ABE with communication touchpoints
  • Identify project management system and implement best practices

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Bachelor's degree required (Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field of study preferred)

1 years of experience required in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or relevant role
