Legat Architects

About Legat: Energized by Challenges

Legat Architects works with building owners, institutions, and communities to overcome challenges through the design of facilities that improve the performance and lives of the people who use them.

We’re a mid-sized architecture firm. That means you get the training, resources, support, and variety to advance your skills. It also means that you’re not just a number or a commodity—you’re part of a vital community whose members know you and respect what you do. We don’t want to offer you a job; we want you to choose to build your career at Legat.

Legat offers architecture and interior design services from our studios in Columbus, Ohio and Chicago, Gurnee, Oak Brook, and Moline, Illinois. Our portfolio ranges from one of the nation’s first homeland security education centers to one of the highest-ranking LEED certified facilities in the Midwest. As marketing director, you won’t be pigeonholed into one facility type. Instead, you’ll work with projects ranging from hotels and performing arts centers to intensive care units and STEM labs.

Plan, celebrate, learn, grow, and share your voice at Legat. Manage a talented marketing team at one of the Midwest’s leading design firms.

Legat Architects is looking for a self-starter with 7 to 10 years of experience in the AEC industry to join our leadership team, offer ideas, and help establish the long-term vision of the company. As director of marketing, you’ll guide a gifted, cooperative team of professionals, while interacting with architects, interior designers, and business development staff.

Each day brings a different opportunity and a new challenge, whether it’s brainstorming promotional materials, planning an event, strategizing a proposal, helping prepare for an interview, or developing a campaign. Best of all: you get to work independently while leading your team. No micromanaging here.

Additionally, Legat has no private offices—our open-door policy means the marketing director has access to all staff, including principals. The firm’s president/CEO also meets regularly with the marketing director to hear suggestions, discuss ideas, and make sure you are supported.

The marketing director will work out of Legat’s West Loop studio, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. You’ll also be a part of this studio’s transition later this year to a vibrant new space just two blocks away.

As a member of the Legat team, you’ll have access to a variety of extracurricular opportunities: a beach volleyball team, firmwide outings and educational opportunities, charity events, and more.
