GENERAL SUMMARY:

GENERAL SUMMARY Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Communications and Membership departments, the Marketing Manager is responsible for successful planning and implementation of the society’s marketing strategy, supporting its Annual Meeting and Pre-Meeting Workshops, Policy Summit, journals, membership recruitment, membership retention, and other programming goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis and reporting on market trends, tracking and reporting on marketing efforts, representing the Society at select events, staffing the Society’s exhibit booth, and managing all internal and external marketing efforts.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the development and implementation of ASGCT’s annual marketing plan including identification of appropriate target audiences and institutions, objectives, tactics, and desired outcomes under the direction of the Executive Director.

Monitor and evaluate of the success of individual tactics and marketing plan as a whole and report progress to Executive Director, Society leadership, and team members.

Work with Communications Manager to coordinate the creation of all ASGCT promotional materials from conception to completion for brochures, broadcast emails, hand-outs, print ads, and other communications.

Travel to selected tradeshows to promote ASGCT and manage marketing efforts, including the exhibit booth, based on the marketing plan.

Coordinate the design and materials for the exhibition.

Work with ASGCT journal publishing partner to align and coordinate annual marketing plans to maximize impact, promoting both the Society’s journal and other strategic programming goals.

Work with selected publishers on print ad negotiation and placement, based on the marketing plan.

With the Executive Director, develop program budgets for presentation to the Board of Directors.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet multi-faceted and sometimes rapid deadlines.
  • Acute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy on outputs.
  • Able to work successfully in a team environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience:

  • Relevant work experience required, ideally including marketing, association management, and familiarity with nonprofit organizations. OTHER


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel up to 4 weeks per year.
  • Some evening and weekend work required.
  • Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds required.
