The WRC Group is comprised of a parent company and three subsidiaries. Wisconsin Reinsurance Corporation (WRC) is the parent company within the WRC Group. WRC provides reinsurance programs specifically designed for each client company. The three subsidiaries consist of 1st Auto and Casualty Insurance Company, WRC Agency, and Wisconsin Adjusting Service, Inc. Each subsidiary provides services to our clients as follows:

  • 1st Auto and Casualty Insurance Company provides automobile, umbrella, and other complementary insurance products.
  • Wisconsin Adjusting Service, Inc. (WASI) assists client Mutual companies in adjusting liability claims.
  • WRC Agency assists our client company agents in finding coverage for a broad spectrum of insurance products as well as hard to place risks not normally insured in the standard marketplace.

Responsible for the overall coordination and alignment of marketing efforts across related, yet disparate, business units within the WRC Group and corporate communications. Work with marketing reps, underwriters and leadership across different corporate areas (reinsurer, direct lines insurer, agency, and claims service) to create and maintain a consistent and effective marketing strategy that promotes our brand, our values and growth objectives. This position requires a strong, self-starter who can effectively manage working across multiple areas of responsibility while creating a cohesive marketing strategy and direction for our group of companies. Some travel required.

Job Duties:

The primary responsibilities include:

Marketing plan development and oversight:

  • Identify marketing needs and create marketing plan(s).
  • Establish and/or enhance sponsorships, advertising and community engagement to further our corporate mission, promote growth and assist our partners.
  • Manage marketing budget.
  • Manage the strategy and setup of all marketing and corporate communication campaigns, as well as loyalty and awareness efforts.
  • Measure and optimize our marketing efforts using Google Analytics and marketing analyticsreports.
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates across business units to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across all programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies.
  • Monitor and track marketing industry news/trends.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on marketing efforts, key performance metrics and projects.
  • Attend industry and company events, tradeshows and conferences.

Digital marketing:

  • Build and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers.
  • Manage and improve organic search engine performance and establish metrics based on clickthrough rates and traffic to determine effectiveness of efforts.

Marketing materials and content:

  • Build and manage content that attracts a qualified audience to our website (including blog posts, whitepapers, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.). Work with outside vendors and internal IT staff to manage website availability and effectiveness.
  • Build and manage shareable content appropriate for our customer-base to spread both our brand and our content.
  • Create product content (e.g. case studies, product videos, website copy, blog posts, e-newsletters, etc.) to articulate the benefits of our products/services.
  • Oversee creation and distribution of newsletters, brochures & bulletins.
  • Maintain inventory of marketing materials (giveaways, promotional material, stationary, etc.).

Other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of increasing marketing, advertising and/or brand management responsibility 
  • Degree in Marketing or Communications
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & public relation skills
  • Experience with online marketing, social media and content marketing
  • Motivated, self-starter; strong project management skills (key as this is a new position)
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud, SharePoint, Google Analytics, WordPress, and print production
  • Knowledge of graphic design, HTML & CSS programming a plus
  • Familiarity with insurance a plus
  • 25 lb lifting requirement
