GLHF is seeking 1-2 interns to support the fund development team with Graphic Design/Public Relations and Special Events Coordination. We will consider a single Intern to fulfill both roles, or may hire two individuals.

Graphic Design/PR intern will develop/design brochures, flyers, solicitation and marketing collateral; conduct interviews, gather information, develop news releases/special interest stories about our clients and/or special events, GLHF or bleeding disorders in general; assist with administrative duties; may attend GLHF summer special events/programs.

The Special Event intern will involve assisting in preparations for two Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walks in September. Tasks will include communications with team captains, assiting in planning a Kickoff event, plus assisting with social media campaigns; plus other administrative duties. Ideal candidate will serve through the walks in September.

At least two years of college.

Graphic Design/PR position:

  • Excellent graphic design and writing and skills (please provide samples of each). 
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member. 
  • Expertise with Microsoft products as well as InDesign and Photoshop.

Special Events Coordination role:

  • Basic office and computer skills. 
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel; familiar with database programs a plus, but not required. 
  • Familiar with Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop desired, but not required. 
  • Excellent phone presence. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Detail oriented.

Each role will require 8-10 hours per week, with flexibility around exam time, vacation time, etc. This is a paid internship. We are looking for a commitment through the summer. 

Office location: BloodCenter building N. 18th St. and W. Wisconsin Ave.

Office hours: M-Th, 8:30a - 4:30p; Friday, 8:30a-2:30p.
