In a very short time, Prevea established itself as a cornerstone of community health care. The Prevea Health Marketing Department is responsible for all marketing and communications activities of Prevea Health throughout the state, as well as the marketing and communications of our partnering hospitals in HSHS-EWD, including HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.

The Media Strategist/Buyer will be responsible for contributing to the development of campaign strategy and placing media buys. This will require knowledge of all available traditional media, digital media channels and all other advertising options. A primary responsibility will be to negotiate and buy advertising inventory for Prevea Health and HSHS-EWD, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), adjust content and strategy as needed, and to measure results and return on investment (ROI).

The ability to think critically and to creatively develop successful strategy, as well as the ability to establish trust and build a rapport with advertising executives and other vendors is essential. This person will work closely with all members of our marketing team, related business and physician groups, partner hospitals and vendors to strengthen and promote the image, position and message of our various brands throughout the regions we serve.

Specialized Responsibilities: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)

  • Participate in campaign planning to identify target audiences and craft effective strategy 
  • Analyze and research target audience character, purchasing and media habits 
  • Consider the appropriate timing of media activities, based upon usage patterns and seasonal factors 
  • Develop media schedules utilizing the appropriate advertising options to effectively reach each target audiences, and adjust schedules as needed 
  • Negotiate ad space and time slots with various media outlets 
  • Optimize plans and budgets according to the best media mix 
  • Experiment with new platforms and channels 
  • Monitor costs, key performance indicators (KPI) and return on investment (ROI) 

Performance Requirements:

  • The ability to work as a team or individually 
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills 
  • Interest in following advertising and media trends 
  • Must be organized and detail orientated 
  • The ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction is essential 
  • Strong and collegial working relationship skills and a high level of diplomacy in high-pressure situations are also required 
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Economics, Advertising or related field 
  • A minimum of five to ten years of experience as a media strategist, buyer or similar role 
  • Additional experience in digital media is preferred 
  • Working knowledge of ratings, analytics and media buying software 
  • Experience implementing measuring and tracking systems to evaluate efficiencies and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
