The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. Founded in 1931, the Society is comprised of more than 7,000 physician members and represents more than 94 percent of all board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States. ASPS is conveniently located in Northwest Suburban Chicago (in Arlington Heights), close to O'Hare Airport and just off the Northwest Tollway (Arlington Hts Road Exit).
Basic Function:
The Member Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and executing membership recruitment and retention strategies for domestic and international markets. The position functions in many ways as a sales manager in the need to understand the organization's value proposition for existing and potential members; manage international and domestic membership recruitment specialists; and have a firm grasp of the organization's membership benefits, products and programs - and how they can best serve the needs of plastic surgeons in different regions and practice types. The position guides member recruitment processes, and sales of products and services. The position will work closely with Finance, Marketing and the Member Service Center to ensure coordination and compliance of membership processes/bylaws, and manage budgets to optimize recruitment efforts worldwide. The Member Engagement Manager will implement initiatives related to international agreements, serves as an internal membership liaison with ASPS/PSF staff and various committees, and tracks membership recruitment effectiveness. The Member Engagement Manager should be positive and personable with a global view, strong presentation skills and fluent in more than one language.
