UW-Stevens Point seeks an online content coordinator with strong writing skills and good judgment who thinks strategically and creatively. This team member maintains, evaluates and builds the university’s social media and online presence.

Under the direction of the executive director for University Communications and Marketing (UCM), the Online Content Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of UW-Stevens Point’s social media and online presence to advance the mission and goals of the university. This position works primarily with UCM social media channels and university webpages.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience within the social media space in a professional environment; experience managing Twitter, Facebook pages, LinkedIn, Instagram and Snapchat, and familiarity with YouTube and Pinterest; knowledge of industry standards for monitoring, measuring and evaluating social media performance; and possess excellent writing skills, including the ability to synthesize information quickly and communicate complex topics to a general audience. A team player mentality is essential as is the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or relevant field
  • Minimum two-years’ experience with social media and online communications in a professional environment
  • Experience developing and writing for paid social campaign content, such as Facebook and Instagram ads
  • Understanding of social media campaign optimization and reporting KPIs based on industry standards
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and experience with Google AdWords
  • Experience working in WordPress or similar blog platform
  • Strong writing and speaking skills
  • Efficient multitasker with excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Sensitivity toward diversity
  • Experience with social media management and analytic software, such as Hootsuite or similar program
  • Technical web knowledge, including an understanding of SEO and SEM Keen attention to detail with ability to see the big picture
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently but also in a team environment
  • Demonstrated adaptability to technology and social media climate

This is a 12-month, Academic Staff annual appointment, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Minimum salary is $40,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
