The Packaging Production Coordinator is responsible for a variety of production-related tasks within the department, including vendor coordination, file preparation for vendor production and packaging mock-up production and various layout duties. This role will intensively fulfill all packaging production duties required within the department. General graphics production art duties also required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce final art files and proof to internal customers and external vendors on our full line of packages.
  • Prepare electronic files for our packaging vendors with varied printing processes; troubleshoot as necessary to attain best results with consideration to print limitations.
  • Assist with development of new package design; especially applying existing design templates to updated and/or new packages.
  • Archive completed projects on a timely basis.
  • Execute and/or coordinate all necessary digital and 3-D package mock-up art; includes creation of 3D mockups of OV/OP line for Digital Asset Management system (DAM) and e-commerce sites as necessary.
  • Maintain Graphic Packaging Resources on the OV asset management software in different formats for Interactive, Brand, Sales and other departments for their various needs.
  • Manage internal proofs and proof routing.Maintain and nurture vendor relationships.
  • Monitor active packaging projects to ensure they remain on schedule; includes keeping Workamajig status current for weekly update meetings with Manager.
  • Review color proofs for approval; provide detailed feedback to vendor when changes needed, communicate print quality concerns/changes to internal clients/Brand Team when necessary.
  • Extensive photo retouching of photo assets as used on packages.
  • Attend on-press viewings of new packages when determined necessary.
  • Provide OV assets to outside vendors/agencies on a timely basis.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform extended position duties; complete & manage requisitions, P.O.s, receiving and reporting as required.
  • Schedule required meetings for WP&Rs and annual reviews with manager to review performance and set goals for upcoming months and year.
  • Proficiency with department project management software, Workamajig and be open for training when necessary.
  • Attend weekly production/packaging meetings; completing action items per deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain relevant spreadsheets for co-op wide use: farmers on cartons, package deadlines, packaging legalities, plate costs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Serve as print liaison for Stonyfield and OV Fresh.
  • Train new production artist hires with full gamut of duties; emphasizing OV-specific processes and concerns.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud, and proficiency with Microsoft Office environment.
  • Proficiency with Marmoset 3D software.
  • Strong Photoshop skills.Able to perform a variety of computer and manual art production tasks on deadline.
  • Ability to troubleshoot/adjust vendor files to meet our printers’ specifications.
  • Attend to a multitude of details successfully while under pressure.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, from requests for additional assets or relaying/receiving feedback on projects.
