Position Description:

3M is seeking a Marketing Supervisor for the Repair Tapes & Masking Systems portfolio in the Tapes & Masking Systems (TAMS) Business Unit which is part of the division’s Paint, Decorate and Organize Business within CBG’s Construction & Home Improvement Markets Division located in Maplewood, MN. Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Marketing Supervisor will develop and implement specific marketing plans to support the TAMS Business Unit’s repair tapes and masking systems direction for existing and new products resulting in achievement of sales, profit, and other objectives. This position will interact with internal and external contacts on pricing strategies, business development opportunities, promotions, and distribution of this product line.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • P&L responsibility for the Repair & Masking Systems product lines
  • Developing sales and marketing programs to achieve business unit sales objectives
  • Partnering with sales personnel and shopper marketers to develop customer specific marketing programs
  • Overseeing product line pricing strategies
  • Interpreting and reviewing consumer and market information for trends and opportunities
  • Leading cross-functional teams in the development and execution of new programs, products and line extensions
  • Conducting product portfolio analysis and providing specific recommendations for the product line
  • Analyzing customer profitability and recommending changes
  • Working closely with R&D to clearly define differentiators between 3M products and those of competitors
  • Working closely with manufacturing on cost reduction efforts

Basic Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution is required 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration from an accredited institution is preferred 
  • Knowledge and experience with the theories and practices of one or more disciplines such as: market research, channel marketing, business/market development, branding, new product development, marketing communications, or sales
