We have an opportunity available for an experienced PR/marketing professional to support the business development and marketing team. The Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive image for the firm, and the developing and distributing content for key campaigns, including press releases, and articles for local and national publications.

Successful candidates will develop and cultivate internal working relationships, prioritize multiple deadlines on an analogous schedule, and help creatively tell stories using exceptional graphics and words.

The Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator will also support the business development team, by assisting in the development of marketing strategies, tactics, and tools related to client maintenance and new business development. The successful candidate will also help with proposal preparation, assist with content, design, and production of request for proposal responses, and other marketing collateral.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work with technical staff to develop content to position our team as thought leaders, and manage article pitches and placement
  • Build and maintain relationships with media personnel at both local and national trade publications
  • Keep abreast of latest business news, market trends, researching target markets, and communicating critical highlights to business development team
  • Plan and execute market area business plans
  • Coordinate trade shows and implement lead generating strategies
  • Plan/coordinate marketing campaigns and activities

Secondary responsibilities include:

  • Work with technical staff to develop proposals and presentations, resumes, project descriptions, and marketing collateral
  • Update social media and website content
  • Utilize a CRM (Client Relationship Management) system (Salesforce)
  • Coordinate specialized consultants (photographers, PR, etc.)

In order to be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following basic qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, PR, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional services marketing and public relations experience
  • Proficiency with the use of software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically

The candidate must have the following experience:

  • Writing press releases and editorial stories
  • Pitching to the media and running PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives
  • Coordinating conferences and trade shows

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • Salesforce CRM
  • Proposal and interview preparation in response to request for proposals
  • Background with an emphasis in professional services consulting (engineering, architecture, construction, real estate development)
