Wipfli LLP is currently seeking an Public Relations Manager. Under the direction of the Creative Lead, the Public Relations Manager strategically plans and organizes the public relations program for the Firm to create and maintain a favorable public image, grow brand visibility through press mediums and generates external opportunities to increase thought leadership, in accordance with Firm policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an integrated external communication strategy to drive public and industry-specific awareness of key Firm initiatives. 
  • Coordinate all public relations efforts to meet needs, objectives, and policies of the Firm. 
  • Establish and maintain good-natured, cooperative relationships with the news media, clients, and local communities 
  • Assist in raising brand awareness in the Firm’s current footprint and drive awareness in new markets. 
  • Write press releases about the Firm, distribute accordingly and maintain a press release database. 
  • Identify and manage article and quote opportunities in national, local and trade-specific publications to expand national presence of the Firm. 
  • Assist in the overall marketing communication strategy, working with internal communications and content development teams to align messaging and ensure an integrated approach to growth initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with digital team to leverage press mentions, releases, blogging, social media and related strategies from an SEO perspective. 
  • Identify opportunities for strategic link building and viral strategies to help drive firm web traffic and highlight key leaders. 
  • Utilize outreach tools for link analysis, prospecting, and locating contact information to acquire backlinks, tracking and reporting

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field

Previous Experience:

  • Requires 5+ years of job related experience

  • Requires demonstrated knowledge in the areas of public relations, media and communications

Technology:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Experience with distribution wire and PR-specific programs (i.e. PR Newswire, Business Wire, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with press engagement tools (i.e. Meltwater, HARO, etc.) 
  • Basic understanding of metadata and SEO a plus
