NCSA is also one of the fastest-growing companies in Chicago and we are looking for an in-house PR Specialist who can increase awareness, build, and maintain a positive company image by helping to tell our story. This is a great opportunity for someone to come into an established company and super charge our growth with their media expertise. We are looking for someone who knows how media works and can craft, pitch, and sell in stories reporters want to tell, not just pitch them what we want.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute various PR campaigns (write press releases, provide information to the media, respond to media requests) 
  • Whitepapers, reports, assist with infographics on college recruiting 
  • Promote proprietary NCSA Power Rankings 
  • Promote NCSA Company Culture (give back mission, recruiting expertise, Olympic hires, remote workforce, key executives) 
  • Pitch media outlets via email, phone and networking events 
  • Work with senior marketing team to create and execute on an editorial calendar 
  • Work closely with marketing team to make sure all communications align with public relations efforts 
  • Monitor, write responses to Glassdoor feedback, Google, and Yelp! Reviews 
  • Identify best speaking opportunities, panel discussions, op-ed pieces for NCSA executives 
  • Help NCSA executives effectively communicate with the press (interview prep, talking points, etc.) 
  • Stay on top of recruiting, college, and youth sports news and trends and pitch story ideas internally to senior marketing team 
  • Assist with employee recruiting and company awards submissions

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Journalism or Public Relations 
  • 3-5 years of PR/media relations experience 
  • Professional writing experience 
  • Comfortable telling stories with data 
  • Experiencing pitching traditional print, online and broadcast media, as well as bloggers and social influencers
