We are currently looking for a Sales Account Executive in Minneapolis, MN to sell our National Broadcast Sponsorships on radio and TV.

Summary:

The Sales Account Executive is responsible for the sale of customized packages of radio, television, and mobile solutions to advertisers and/or advertising agencies. The account executive performs research on advertising categories and prospects; follows up on leads; makes cold calls; schedules appointments with prospects and agencies to pitch our products and services; prepares customized client presentations; compiles analyses of inventory packages to meet client needs for reach and frequency, targeted audiences and cost efficiency; utilizes/analyzes media research like Strata and Arbitron; helps create effective on-air copy; insures that the advertising buy runs as scheduled; and performs follow up work in coordination with the staff and the client as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Becomes familiar with all products and services 
  • Performs research regarding applicable prospects and advertising categories 
  • Develops client base through research, lead follow-up or cold calls 
  • Presents capabilities to clients and agencies 
  • Develops customized inventory packages to meet client advertising needs 
  • Utilizes media research tools such as Strata and Arbitron 
  • Coordinates with Senior Sales management 
  • Coordinates with other account managers re: multi-market opportunities 
  • Insures that client’s copy and advertising schedule run as contracted 
  • Provides follow up contact with staff, client and agency as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Advertising Sales background – broadcast and/or interactive sales a plus 
  • Track record of client-focused sales success 
  • High degree of credibility, motivation and the ability to work with the team 
  • Accountability for results and follow through 
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills–both verbal and written 
  • Capable of performing multiple tasks 
  • Ability to work independently and succeed without day to day management supervision
