Sales and New Business Development, Design Services

Identify, qualify, pursue and acquire new clients in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. Ideal clients are global CPG companies with products that need strategic design, localized packaging, sales support and other brand communications. Focus will be on the sales of our branding and packaging design services. However, you will also have access to, and represent, Spark’s broader services: digital, POS, retail marketing and creative technology.

You will build a solid base of clients that will provide Spark with ongoing business opportunities for our client service team to manage.

  • Identify, qualify, pursue and acquire new clients. 
  • Create sales plans that include specific sales strategies and goals; deliver progress reports based on those plans and goals. 
  • Organize key contact information using our CRM system. 
  • Create well-written, professional-level responses to RFPs and RFIs. 
  • Through our internal team, collaborate on the development of targeted presentation materials and proposals.
  • Be a self-starter, dedicated to meeting objectives without continual oversight or supervision. 
  • Have several years of sales and/or new business development experience. 
  • Hold a business or marketing degree. Alternatively, have several years of experience in an agency setting, with a creative consulting firm, or in an in-house creative group. 
  • Have an active professional network that can help you be successful quickly. 
  • Capable and comfortable making cold calls; able to turn rejection into growth toward positive outcome. 
  • Be accepting of sales obligations outside of standard office hours, required to win business and maintain relationships.
