The Sr. Copywriter works closely with other creative (visual) as well as marketing team members in the conception and production of the verbal and messaging elements cross-channel and cross-platform. Must be dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic!

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interprets briefs into clear, engaging and persuasive copy 
  • The copywriter acts as a hub, gathering many opinions, sleuthing facts from multiple sources and interacting with many departments to turn all the information into effective communication 
  • Execute compelling, consistent, on-brand copy for: print and in-store channels, including catalogs, mailers, brochures and signage. Job could also include some digital projects as needed 
  • Participates in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative solutions to creative challenges and develop ways to communicate unique messages 
  • Work to elevate our “fresh, fun, real” voice and has the ability to help develop a style guide to accommodate the growing needs of a company 
  • Copy edits and re-writes to ensure campaign cohesiveness and brand voice adherence

Requirements:

  • BA four year college degree (Marketing, Mass Communication, Advertising, Journalism, PR or English) required 
  • Six to eight years of related experience 
  • WRITING SKILLS, impeccable grammar, excellent spelling, ability to write persuasively and the ability to communicate in the brand voice 
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS, responsible attitude, confidence, autonomy, proactivity and the ability to cast ahead and find what will be due 
  • Proficient in writing for multiple formats; long editorial and short descriptive copy 
  • Has the knack for an emotive tone as well as a transactional/directive copy tone. 
  • Experience with 360 marketing campaigns as well as direct and transactional digital channels 
  • Have an interest in ecommerce, popular culture, digital advertising and social trends and technology 
  • Highly creativity and imaginative, and ability to produce innovative and original ideas 
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize strategic messages and multiple opinions into consumer friendly copy 
  • Proofreading and editing skills 
  • Eye for detail and a mind for big picture thinking 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Administrative and organizational skills 
  • Flexibility, adaptability and collaboration a must 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships 
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing time, multi-tasking and interruptions 
  • Can be part of the solution and improvements in process 
  • Be fun to work with and easy going
