The Senior Internal Communications Specialist works to reinforce Ulteig’s culture of transparency by developing and delivering communications to both internal and external audiences through various channels. A key responsibility of the position is to keep employees informed and engaged with the business by communicating the organization’s goals, initiatives, news and activities. The position will also support Human Resources communications. Required skills include strong writing, editing, proofreading and the creative use of communications channels.

This role reports directly to the Director of Corporate Communications and will interact regularly with internal clients throughout the organization, including executive leadership and Corporate Sales, Marketing and Communications team members.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage creativity to create compelling content; write, edit and publish company-wide internal email messages, intranet postings, blog postings, stories and announcements to a diverse audience; adopt and maintain Ulteig’s corporate “tone” and brand standards 
  • Develop and maintain an internal communications channel strategy 
  • Support content development and execution of new and/or alternative communication channels (i.e. video, digital signage, employee newsletters) 
  • Update and maintain content on internal websites 
  • Seek and implement improvements to the intranet as a key internal communications tool 
  • Assist with content development and execution of quarterly employee town halls (including PowerPoint slide development) 
  • Develop and maintain tools to measure effectiveness of communications initiatives – report on progress 
  • Serve as a resource to departments in a consulting role for communication needs 
  • Edit/proofread marketing materials as needed 
  • Provide communications support for the HR function – assist with the execution of key initiatives including open enrollment, the annual employee engagement survey, annual performance evaluations and training 
  • Assist the Director of Corporate Communications with executive writing and communications as needed 
  • Assist with content development for external communications, including PR, websites and social media to keep clients and the public informed about the organization’s activities

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations or related field 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in corporate communications, internal communications or Marketing Communications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to create dynamic communication content that informs, engages, and/or drives a call to action while maintaining Ulteig’s corporate tone and brand standards 
  • Impeccable editorial and written communications skills in a corporate setting (Writing samples required): Research and produce editorial content for target audiences and  Communicate clear, effective messages 
  • Ability to build relationships throughout the organization and to work cooperatively with others to accomplish objectives; understand corporate culture to respond to communication needs 
  • Ability to create content by collaborating and combining input from multiple stakeholders 
  • Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and under multiple deadlines 
  • A critical eye and desire to deliver consistent, quality work 
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to be sensitive to confidential matters 
  • Comfortable and competent in supporting executive leadership
