Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, is seeking candidates for a Senior Manager of Communications and Change Management for the Institutional North America business.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic communications plans and programs, with a focus on change management to support high priority business initiatives. Responsibilities include developing strategic communications plans, producing high-quality internal communications in a variety of media and effectively managing communications content. You will play a critical function in creating, shaping, articulating, socializing and implementing communications strategies. This position also will be responsible for providing direction, counsel and execution of communications plans to support business announcements, programs and initiatives aimed at broad employee audiences, customers, and external vendors and partners. This person will collaborate closely with Institutional’s senior management team and will report to the VP, Human Resources, Institutional North America. This role has an overall aim to enhance organizational performance through employee and customer engagement and advocacy efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the business executives and their associated leadership teams to develop and drive internal communications strategies to reach 4,000+ employees. 
  • Identify the need for, develop, and implement change management communications for North America Institutional initiatives. 
  • Develop a comprehensive communications program to support Institutional strategic plans with key internal and external audiences. 
  • Plan, implement, and measure the success of the communications programs designed to support the objectives of the business. 
  • Prepare executive presentations to internal audiences to support initiatives and reviews, including talking points, PowerPoint and multimedia development and support collateral; incorporating Ecolab brand standards in all communications. 
  • Lead communications planning for associate events and meetings related to key strategic initiatives and change management. 
  • Write, edit and prepare internal and external communications and announcements in a variety of media, including video, digital and social, promoting employee and customer understanding and engagement. 
  • Provide communications counsel to senior leadership across the Institutional North America business. 
  • Partner with teams across Ecolab on enterprise-wide projects that include the Institutional North America business. 
  • Manage all aspects of communications and change management work including budget creation, forecasting, communication material development and ongoing financial management of a portfolio of projects (digital, print, video, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in communications, including experience with internal communications and public relations 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, communications, marketing, journalism, business or related field 
  • Experience leading change management activity for initiatives of significance 
  • Experience setting communications strategy, and plan implementation 
  • Experience with digital tools and content development 
  • Experience with leading change for major technology implementations (e.g. SAP) 
  • Experience working successfully in a matrix environment 
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree 
  • Project-management experience working with: scope definition, budget, quality, and timelines 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, timelines and budgets simultaneously 
  • Experience managing graphic design, photography and video production 
  • Experience with intranet platforms and content management systems 
  • Strong verbal and written skills, along with high level of executive presence 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented 
  • Good relationship management skills with the ability to interact with and influence senior leadership 
  • Previous experience working as a change-agent in a B2B business environment. 
  • Ability to present to groups effectively 
  • Experience with social and digital media
