We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our communications staff to help us educate our key audiences about our regional power company, the 51 locally-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities we serve, and the benefits of public power. WPPI Energy is looking for a top-notch PR and business writer/editor with a positive attitude, superior interpersonal abilities and excellent organizational skills to help us create engaging and effective communications.

If you’re a talented, detail-oriented writer with a passion for connecting with people and “finding the story,” and an editor who can successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines, you may be the right candidate for this job.

As part of a strong team of communications professionals, you will use your creativity, business experience and strategic communication skills to write, edit and coordinate the publication of newsletters, reports, website and social media content, and more. You will also provide support for advertising, media relations, and other communication functions.

Desired qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, public relations or a related field and at least two to five years of prior work experience in corporate communications or a related field. Knowledge of the electric utility industry is a plus.

We offer exceptional benefits and competitive wages. We are growing to meet the needs of a rapidly changing industry, but we are still small enough to offer flexibility and opportunity.
