Aurora Health Care (Advocate Aurora Health)’s Public Affairs and Marketing Department is seeking candidates for their undergraduate Social Media Internship program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To be eligible, a student must be pursuing a degree in public relations, marketing, journalism/mass communications and/or digital and multimedia communications and have an interest in gaining interdisciplinary experience in a health care setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, including graphics, written content, videos, etc. 
  • Monitor social media activity on Advocate Aurora’s branded accounts, including reviews, messages, comments, etc. 
  • Design graphics for Pinterest and Instagram and infographics for Advocate Aurora’s brand journalism website, health enews. 
  • Assist with social and digital marketing campaign initiatives. 
  • Boost writing and editorial skills by assisting on a variety of external communications initiatives. 
  • Enhance business acumen by building relationships with administrative managers, directors and other department members. 
  • Assist with ideation of social media initiatives. 
  • Potential to go on-site for social media events, promotions and partnership activations.
  • Passion for social media marketing 
  • College/university junior or senior, or recent graduate, obtaining BA/BS/MBA in public relations, marketing, journalism/mass communications or equivalent area of focus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Self motivated and effective task manager 
  • High level of creativity and ability to think outside of the box 
  • Ability to work independently and think critically 
  • Organized and detail oriented 
  • Access to reliable transportation 
  • Knowledge of social media and marketing strategies, journalism or media relations preferred
