We are seeking a Sr. Communications Specialist in our Minnetonka, MN office.

The Senior Specialist Corporate Communications works cross-functionally to develop and manage a global social media program. This role works on multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with product marketing, demand generation, customer service, human resources, and sales teams to build and run a holistic social program that advances company goals. The Senior Specialist Corporate Communicationspromotes Digital River’s competitive position in the external market to build brand awareness, enhance corporate reputation, and drive sales.

What You’ll Do:

Social Media

  • Manage and implement holistic global corporate social media strategy that spans multiple channels. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with demand generation, product marketing, customer service, sales, human resources to develop and maintain a comprehensive social media program. 
  • Collaborate with demand generation to build and execute paid social campaign programs. 
  • Serve as community manager, leading social media campaigns, developing global editorial calendar and executing day-to-day activities. 
  • Research top influencers and competitors, and stay current with social media trends and best practicesto make process enhancements and effectively compete. 
  • Advocate for Digital River in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues across all channels with a consistent brand and tone in all social platform messaging. 
  • Monitor sites on a daily basis for opportunities and craft messaging on behalf of the company through collaboration with internal customer service teams. 
  • Analyze the impact of social media programs, and measure effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to report on social engagement strategies and results. 
  • Maintain the corporate social media policy and monitor social channels to ensure compliance.

Public Relations

  • Support public relations programs through managing press release calendar, and drafting media materials, including press releases, byline articles, and media pitches. 
  • Monitor news and social channels to identify rapid response media outreach opportunities. 
  • Submit award and speaking opportunities that position Digital River as a leader in the ecommerce industry.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Social Media, Corporate Communications, Marketing and/or Public Relations experience.
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and executing social media content strategies.
  • Deep understanding of social media channels with a natural curiosity to stay on-top of new tools and industry trends.
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills with the ability to craft audience-tailored messaging on external platforms.
  • Must be able to collaborate across multiple departments and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Self-motivated, natural curiosity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently, often with ambiguity, and lead a project without heavy supervision.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, along with leading diverse projects.
  • Strong grasp of digital and emerging communications media tools.
  • Experience working with different website and email development platforms, content management systems and design programs; experience working in WordPress a plus.
  • Experience marketing software technologies, and an understanding of B2B marketing, ecommerce industry and/or digital marketing services a plus.
