Senior Marketing Manager – Global Beverage and Brewery Segment

We are seeking an outstanding strategist and practitioner to lead marketing activities for the Beverage and Brewery segment. The Global Beverage and Brewery Segment Marketer will oversee market and customer insights, customer needs assessment, go-to-market strategies and value propositions, execution of the value proposition and offering, and be accountable for driving the short- and long-term growth and profitability of this market segment in a fast-paced, global environment. The ideal candidate is a motivator and change agent who can skillfully deliver rapid, sustainable, and measurable value to our business and our customers.

This position will report to the VP Marketing, Food & Beverage, and be based in our St Paul, MN office.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategies, roadmaps and plans which deliver winning solutions and accelerated sales and profit growth in the Beverage and Brewery segment.

  • Partner closely with Regional and Global Accounts Marketing & RD&E to gain market and customer insights, develop strategies to exploit opportunities and address competitive threats, and to clearly communicate, prioritize and close gaps in our offering and value proposition to the segment. 
  • Be the expert in the segment, including size, growth rates, key customers drivers, competitive landscape, risk factors, technology, etc. Partner with key stakeholders to leverage a range of qualitative (customer meetings, sales feedback, etc.) and quantitative (analytics, market research, surveys, etc.) methods to deeply understand, articulate and prioritize the needs and opportunities of the segment and strategic customers. 
  • Effectively synthesize fact-based insights to clearly identify and prioritize segment strategies (short- and long-term) to maximize market penetration and profitability. This will include developing sustainable, compelling and unique value proposition for the segment. 
  • Ensure only the critical few high-value innovation projects are worked on to fully deliver on the value proposition for the segment. As appropriate, bring products and projects together into a program that presents a coherent, compelling, and highly differentiated value proposition to the customer and ensures a sustainable competitive advantage for Ecolab. Establish value-based pricing strategies taking into account both the value delivered to the customer as well as the competitive offering. 
  • Document the segment strategy in a compelling manner and lay out a multi-year growth roadmap. Communicate it well to senior management and key stakeholders to build their understanding of the segment and gain the necessary support to execute the strategy. 
  • Partner with Marketing Communications, Regional and Global Accounts Marketing to develop and implement a comprehensive communication and promotion plans which communicate our value proposition to the sales teams and customers in a compelling way and builds a strong Ecolab brand in the segment. These may include marketing collateral, value calculators, product selectors, training, conferences, etc. 
  • Coordinate the execution of the strategy to deliver on key milestones and sales targets. Develop robust KPIs to track and report success of the segment marketing plan. 
  • Leverage the Phase and Gate process for bringing high-impact innovation to the market segment. 
  • With direct and indirect teams, build a culture of strong engagement, accountability and high performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA strongly preferred. Experience in the Food & Beverage industry is a bonus. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of strategy and marketing experience as well as a successful track record of leadership and global accountability in a matrix organization. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute winning strategies and solutions. Proven results managing across global matrix organizations and among peers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective, cohesive and collaborative teams. Outstanding coach, mentor and developer of high performing teams. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
