The UX Designer will create navigation flows and visual designs for mobile, web and rich internet applications with the goal of improving the Delta Dental of WI brand. This creative, organized, self-motivated individual will adopt a mindset from personas and explore projects from this perspective. They will apply a user centered design approach. To be successful in this role, the UX Designer must communicate a design through the user’s eyes. The role of the Marketing & Communications Specialist is to provide support for all aspects of marketing and communication for assigned areas. This position will provide direction and lead development for collateral materials, prospect, customer and internal communication, and other stakeholder facing tools.

  • Create, analyze and recommend storyboards, user journeys and flow diagrams to meet organizational goals
  • Validate personas and recommend new ones as patterns evolve
  • Manage brand standards for the UI of internal and external applications
  • Build and maintain a pattern library
  • Conduct in-person and remote user research projects
  • Present solutions and concepts and be willing to defend decisions with data and/or evidence to support them
  • Conduct competitive review from within the industry
  • Draw comparisons to existing web applications that are successful and apply that knowledge to new offerings
  • Develop content strategy to outline the necessary pieces of content needed for an application
  • Use divergent and convergent design methods to align diverse teams around a common vision
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate ideas from designers and non-designers for concept creation
  • Create strategies to increase conversions on the web while decreasing interactions with the call center
  • Utilize analytical skills to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption where appropriate
  • Collaborate with web development staff and software designers to create graphical user interfaces, web forms and other requirements
  • Provide input to IT regarding web accessibility standards to ensure accessibility compliance for customers, clients, business partners and users
  • Communicate with project sponsors to keep them aware of project status, and subject matter experts on time with their responsibilities
  • Work with Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA) to ensure all digital communications meet DDPA compliance guidelines; collaborate with vendor partners.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned
  • This position requires a four-year degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Technology, Graphic Design or a related design field
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience designing for web or mobile
  • Working knowledge of UX/UI/Visual Design processes, methods and tools
  • Intimate knowledge of HTML5 and CSS and web technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Thorough and demonstrated understanding of web communications, marketing and customer service principles
  • Knowledge of CMS and CRM platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred
  • Proficient in writing for the webExcellent presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to use data to draw conclusions and execute marketing strategies
