Our senior leadership position is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal, to drive revenue and build the brand. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to articulate and visually express our mission/brand impact, while possessing an interest in healthcare and in increasing both pediatric partner and public awareness on the Charity’s mission and impact.

For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana® (RMHC-CNI) has supported children and families through our Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room®, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® programs. RMHC-CNI is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing comfort, compassion, and a sense of community.

Will direct the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with other departments within the organization. The position reports to the CEO and serves as a member of the senior leadership team.

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing communications, public relations or related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred. 
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in a senior management role within the MARCOM field. 
  • Strong preference for Not for Profit experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing digital platforms and campaign strategies. 
  • Extensive successful writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communications media. 
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization's mission and goals. 
  • Proven record of accomplishment hitting growth goals within a fast paced, high growth organization.

  • Experience in crisis management communication and ensuring brand protection. 
  • Ability to influence and provide leadership direction.

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, must be available to work irregular hours and occasional weekends. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
  • Ability to travel throughout Chicagoland area is required with access to own personal transportation. 
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
