Nelson Schmidt is seeking a leader for its full-service media team. This individual has an analytical mind and desire for data to inform decisions. They are a master of omni-channel media strategies that can fill the entire marketing funnel. They possess a strong digital prowess and keep pace with the transformation of channels and tools and their impact on audience behavior. They are an experienced manager who can lead a group of planners, buyers and activators to define, deliver and optimize modern media strategies. Lastly, they are a driver of collaboration and thought leadership both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought leadership and inspired media thinking on all accounts. Specifically develop smart, innovative, consumer-inspired paid media and activation strategies that achieve our clients’ objectives.
  • Continually bring new ideas to the table and drive the business forward. Cause clients and prospects to view us as a provider of innovative paid media solutions by expanding and sharing knowledge of new technologies and business opportunities through industry research, industry events and vendor offerings.
  • Be the digital expert on appropriate media delivery vehicles such as online publishers, social, mobile apps, search and content driven strategies that feed marketing automation.
  • Lead/develop and mentor a team of four staff members. Interpret, supervise, coordinate and integrate assigned media activities within the media community of practice.
  • Foster knowledge sharing across the planning and buying disciplines to ensure collaborative and informed work.
  • Oversee the timely execution of all media plans, including preparation of media budgets, schedules of insertions, contracts, and supporting materials.
  • Work with account, creative, PR, content and production teams to define campaign and media strategies and the KPI they will be responsible for analyzing and reporting.
  • Work with business development to bring innovative media solutions to prospective clients, in addition to building upon the business of current clients.
  • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with all clients. Present to clients in a positive, confident and professional manner.
  • Serve as an agency leader by actively supporting, participating in and leading agency initiatives and growth.

Requirements:

  • Significant years of media experience with at least ten years inside a full-service agency environment with more than one media staff member.
  • A four-year degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field.
  • Proven success developing large-scale media plans that achieved overall campaign objectives for high-profile brands and clients.
  • Balanced experience with all forms of media and paid media channels including digital, print, broadcast, social, search, mobile, sponsorships, direct and promotional tactics.
  • A track record of bringing new opportunities, technologies and emerging media to the business.
  • An understanding of Marketing Automation platforms such as Marketo and the requirements to satisfy content marketing to drive lead nurturing and conversion.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of media professionals.
  • Strong presentation skills coupled with the confidence, professionalism and integrity necessary to represent the agency to its client(s).
  • Strong written communications skills. Note: Providing nonproprietary plan samples will be part of the selection process.
  • Experience and working knowledge of media research tools and resources (ex. ComScore, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • A creative thinker with a passion for generating great ideas on behalf of our clients.
  • An articulate, friendly, “whatever-it-takes" attitude, along with a strong work ethic.
