The Web & Digital Media Manager coordinates, manages and executes the strategic direction of the College website. This position will have an understanding and demonstrate expertise in Web content, usability, architecture, development and design. This position develops and manages digital media strategies to reach the College’s various constituents such as current students, prospective students, donors, or the business community. This position will collaborate across the College to execute web and digital media initiatives that support college-wide strategic directions. This position will advise and provide guidance in utilizing the web and digital media in relation to the development of a holistic communications and technology plan.

The Web & Digital Media Manager is also responsible for management of the College’s intranet homepage, managing user and training staff related to web and employee portal usage. This position handles the integration of the requirements of technology and web and digital media programming as well as the reporting of website and digital media analytics.

Specific duties include:

  • Lead and support the development of the strategic direction and execution of the College website. 
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of HTC’s main college social media and digital media accounts to engage audiences while effectively communicating HTC’s brand, programs, and initiatives. 
  • Provide training and technical assistance to users as well as monitor and conduct research to inform College website design, user experience, trends, mobile applications and general integration between IT and communications.

NOTE: Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends and able to travel between campuses as well as other local and regional venues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Interaction Design or related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience in digital media and website management, content development and user experience OR Associate’s Degree in related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in digital media and website management, content development and user experience; 
  • Proficient with implementing and managing digital media campaigns; 
  • Proficiency in web design concepts and UX design; 
  • Project management experience; 
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; 
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools and web based coding such as HTML, Java Script, CSS or equivalent; 
  • Experience and knowledge in Search Engine Optimization best practices; 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, consulting skills, ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships, particularly with faculty, staff and students; 
  • Ability to manage time, operate efficiently, meet deadlines for all types of production, maintain multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with frequent interruptions; 
  • Strong customer service orientation; 
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment; and 
  • Experience writing content for web and digital purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Interaction Design or related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience in digital media and website management, content development and user experience; 
  • Proficiency with content management systems such as Drupal, WordPress, SiteCore, etc; 
  • Experience working in a SharePoint environment; and 
  • Ability to develop and conduct training, focus groups and feedback gathering sessions.
