Responsibilities:

The Website Design Specialist is a new position to Aquafix, Inc. We are looking for someone who has the skills and desire to really make this position their own. The ideal candidate will use html, WordPress, and everything else in their toolbelt to make our websites great! They will be responsible for website maintenance, creating new pages, and improving our SEO practices. This position will also be responsible for researching web hosting and performance practices and will be expected to make recommendations for improving current website performance. We encourage out of the box thinking.

Website Designer Responsibilities:

  • Create new webpages using Wordpress, html, and other skills they have
  • Upgrade sites by updating content and graphics, monitoring performance, identifying improvement options, and maintaining links and plugins
  • Ensure e-commerce site is working properly
  • Promptly troubleshoot and fix of any website issues that arise
  • Improve SEO practices and searchability within search engines
  • Keep up to date on strategies for improving website performance by utilizing educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and professional organizations
  • Participate in website content strategy to enhance discoverability
  • Participate in website analytics review and make recommendation to improve content and user engagement

Occasional Graphic Design Responsibilities:

  • Create a variety of promotional materials such as product labels, product flyers, newsletters, educational posters, etc.
  • Generate and manipulate graphic images and animations
  • Create marketing text and content
  • Assist in the production of webinar and product videos
  • Assist with photography as needed
  • All other marketing and office duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, market research or a similar field, such as math, statistics or computer science
  • Proficiency with HTML, SEO, web hosting services, and WordPress.; 1-3 years of experience preferred
  • Some experience with PHP and Adobe software programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, etc
  • Intermediate computer skills required, experience with MailChimp and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and email a plus
  • Must be a team player: We value teamwork, a positive attitude and the willingness to do what is needed for our customers and our business
  • Self-motivated with strengths in time management, organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle conflict and perform comfortably in a changing, fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Position requires long periods of sitting, occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds short distances.
  • Position also requires occasional bending, twisting, and reaching.
