Website Designer

Our full-service, fast-paced agency in Brookfield, WI, is looking for an ambitious web professional—a designer who has a passion for all the latest website software, analytics, and advanced technologies and an eye for creative page design. This a part-time/contract position that requires in-person collaboration with our account managers, writers, and designers. You will be responsible for front-end development of websites, technical audits, and site enhancements to ensure optimal SEO ranking and a positive user experience. An interest in marketing and brand messaging is a plus, but the ability to communicate clearly, think critically, and stick to schedules and budgets are musts.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet regularly with our creative, SEO, and security team members at our Brookfield office
  • Create responsive, user-friendly WordPress websites using SEO best practices
  • Ensure consistently great content and performance
  • Assist security specialist in launching new websites
  • Perform technical audits and optimize sites for maximum speed and scalability
  • Create and maintain clean and consistent software code documentation
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems ranging from bugs to cross-browser issues
  • Keep up with the latest web development trends

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree in Web/Software Development or comparable education
  • 3 to 4 years of web development experience—eCommerce experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in WordPress is mandatory
  • Functional understanding of other CMS platforms such as Joomla, Drupal, and Magento (BigCommerce is a plus)
  • Working experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and WordPress plug-ins in order to customize WordPress themes and/or optimize them for optimal page speed
  • Solid understanding of Google Analytics and other SEO implementations and best practices
  • Basic understanding of web security practices
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and database management programs (PHP, mySQL)
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects, independently or as part of a team
  • Strong communication, time management, analytical, and organizational skills
